This technique falls under the category of laser peels, but it is skillfully combined with photorejuvenation and performed using a carbon-based enhancer—a nanogel. As a result, the keratinized layer of the epidermis is removed, the skin is smoothed, a healthy complexion is restored, and pigment spots are eliminated.
Carbon peeling acts very gently. Upon interacting with the patient’s skin, it gently exfoliates dead layers of the epidermis and has a bactericidal effect. As a result of this type of peeling, all metabolic processes are restored, including lipid metabolism.
Moreover, it noticeably tightens enlarged pores and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. Regenerative processes are also triggered at a deep cellular level, leading to overall facial rejuvenation.
In addition, one of the method’s advantages is its versatility—that is, the ability to address multiple issues simultaneously. For example, the skin may be oily, porous (superficial issues), and showing signs of aging at the same time (deeper issues). Carbon peeling effectively addresses both excess oiliness and the first signs of aging.
How is the “carbon peel” procedure performed?
Carbon peeling is performed in two stages:
A thin layer of carbon nanogel is applied to the patient’s skin to prepare the area for laser treatment, during which all dead and keratinized layers of cells are exfoliated. At this same stage, inflammatory processes are eliminated.
Laser pulses trigger a process called photothermolysis, which involves deep heating of the skin. This stage promotes the production of elastin and collagen, which are responsible for the skin’s elasticity and youthful appearance.
The procedure lasts approximately twenty minutes, and the course consists of five sessions conducted at five-day intervals.
As such, no recovery period is required. The most significant side effect is mild redness, which resolves on its own within a day or two. Accordingly, the patient can resume their normal lifestyle immediately after the procedure.
This peel does not preclude the use of cosmetics or makeup, but doctors recommend avoiding direct sunlight for two to three weeks to prevent the appearance of pigmentation spots.
Post-treatment care instructions:
For the first 24 hours, cleanse your skin only with micellar water or gentle foaming cleansers;
Under no circumstances should you let your skin dry out—always keep it protected with a thin layer of cream;
Treatments can be combined with mesotherapy or face masks, but not with scrubs, microdermabrasion, or other types of exfoliation.
