Register nowFacial darsonvalization is a physiotherapeutic technique based on the application of low-intensity, high-frequency pulsed current, designed to improve the condition of the skin and its functional properties. The procedure is performed using a special device and glass electrodes that gently stimulate the skin’s surface.
Under the influence of pulsed currents, blood microcirculation and lymphatic drainage improve, and metabolic processes in the skin tissues are activated. This creates conditions for more complete cellular nutrition and contributes to an improvement in the overall condition of the facial skin.
One of the key benefits of darsonvalization is the normalization of sebaceous gland function, making the procedure particularly effective for oily and combination skin. The method can also be used for skin prone to inflammation, as it enhances the skin’s local defense mechanisms.
Due to the gentle stimulation of the skin, an increase in skin tone, an improvement in complexion, and a visual smoothing of texture are observed. The procedure can be used as a standalone skincare method or as part of comprehensive cosmetic programs.
Darsonvalization is performed as a course of treatment. The effect develops gradually and depends on individual skin characteristics, the initial condition, and the regularity of the procedures.
It is important to note that the skin’s reaction to the treatment may vary among patients, so the procedure parameters are selected individually by a specialist.
Darsonvalization is a physiotherapeutic method of therapeutic treatment. Essentially, Darsonval therapy involves electrotherapy using alternating pulsed current with a frequency of 100–400 kHz, a voltage of approximately 20 kV, and a current of up to 100–200 mA.
The effectiveness of Darsonval therapy can only be assessed after completing a full course of treatments; interim results, whether positive or negative, are not informative. Each person’s reaction to Darsonval is individual, and the existing condition may worsen—everyone must understand this, and beauty salon staff are required to warn about possible adverse reactions to the procedure. The effectiveness of Darsonval is confirmed with consistent use; that is, a single course over a lifetime will definitely not restore youth and health, nor will it eliminate chronic foci of infection.
How safe is the use of Darsonval—are there potential health risks?
Darsonval involves the simultaneous targeted exposure of the human body to several physical factors that are aggressive in nature and significantly affect the body’s physicochemical reactions. And there are, in principle, no “harmless” currents or radiation; all of this is unnatural for the body and constitutes stress. Darsonval poses the greatest danger as a factor that can trigger the growth of malignant tumors or the transformation of benign tumors into malignant ones. Often, a person is unaware of having such a condition, which then suddenly appears without any warning signs. Before deciding on such treatment, one must undergo a thorough medical examination (see cancer screening tests). Improper use of the device can easily lead to burns, skin discoloration, and exacerbation of existing problems. The list of contraindications provided below, as per the Darsonval instructions for use, is by no means exhaustive. This means that the treatment can significantly worsen and exacerbate existing conditions. However, the beneficial effects of the procedures are not obvious, as they are observed in far from everyone or are short-lived.

- Benign tumors
- Thrombophlebitis
- Rosacea
- Hypertrichosis, hirsutism
- Children under 6 years of age
