    What is it?

Darsonval treatment for hair is an excellent way to prevent hair loss and strengthen hair follicles. Under the influence of Darsonval, hair grows much better. In addition, the device helps improve blood flow to the hair roots and address many scalp issues. Darsonval regulates sebum production, making oily hair clean, healthy, and shiny.

Darsonval therapy is a physiotherapeutic method of therapeutic treatment. Essentially, Darsonval therapy involves electrotherapy using alternating pulsed current with a frequency of 100–400 kHz, a voltage of approximately 20 kV, and a current of up to 100–200 mA.

The effectiveness of Darsonval therapy can only be assessed after completing a full course of treatments; interim results, whether positive or negative, are not informative. Each person’s reaction to Darsonval is individual, and the existing condition may worsen—everyone must understand this, and beauty salon staff are required to warn about possible adverse reactions to the procedure. The effectiveness of Darsonval is confirmed with consistent use; that is, a single course over a lifetime will definitely not restore youth and health, nor will it eliminate chronic foci of infection.

How safe is the use of Darsonval—are there potential health risks?

Darsonval involves the simultaneous targeted exposure of the human body to several physical factors that are aggressive in nature and significantly affect the body’s physicochemical reactions. And there are, in principle, no “harmless” currents or radiation; all of this is unnatural for the body and constitutes stress. Darsonval poses the greatest danger as a factor that can trigger the growth of malignant tumors or the transformation of benign tumors into malignant ones. Often, a person is unaware of having such a condition, which then suddenly appears without any warning signs. Before deciding on such treatment, one must undergo a thorough medical examination (see cancer screening tests). Improper use of the device can easily lead to burns, skin discoloration, and exacerbation of existing problems. The list of contraindications provided below in the Darsonval instructions is by no means exhaustive. This means that the treatment can significantly worsen and exacerbate existing conditions. However, the beneficial effect of the procedures is not obvious, as it is observed in far from everyone or is short-lived.

Hair loss treatment with Darsonval is based on enhancing lymphatic and blood microcirculation. This effect is achieved by applying high-frequency and high-voltage current to the scalp.

The Darsonval hair treatment procedure involves combing the hair with a special comb attachment. It should be performed on clean, dry hair; the attachment should also be degreased using alcohol or vodka.

Remove all metal objects from your hair and clothing. During the Darsonval hair treatment, try to avoid contact with any electrical devices, such as a computer.

First, comb your hair with a regular brush, and only then begin the Darsonval treatment. The Darsonval device should be applied to the scalp with the attachment firmly pressed against the skin. Gently and slowly move the electrode across the skin from the forehead to the back of the head. The Darsonval hair treatment manual states that combing against the grain is possible on short hair. But I also do this on long hair. First, I comb the hair from the front, then from the nape to the crown, and finally from the ears upward. The entire procedure can take about 15 minutes.

If you plan to use the Darsonval for hair growth, try to combine it with massage and special products. For example, after the Darsonval treatment, you can apply a mask with bay oil to stimulate growth, or apply a special balm. Since blood circulation is increased at this point, the masks will be more effective.

    Counterindications

The use of Darsonval is contraindicated in the following diseases and conditions:

    • Blood disorders
    • Bleeding
    • Acute mental disorders
    • Severe hypertension
    • Pacemaker
    • Benign tumors
    • Thrombophlebitis
    • Rosacea
    • Hypertrichosis, hirsutism

    • Individual intolerance — cases of allergic reactions to electrotherapy are increasingly observed today
    • Acute illnesses with hyperthermia (high fever)
    • Oncological pathology — in this age of heightened cancer awareness, given that early-stage cancer is often asymptomatic, this contraindication is particularly concerning
    • Epilepsy (see symptoms and treatment of epilepsy)
    • Pulmonary tuberculosis, including latent forms, as well as extrapulmonary forms of tuberculosis (which are typically not diagnosed in a timely manner)—renal tuberculosis, urogenital tuberculosis, bone tuberculosis, etc.
    • In cases of arrhythmia and cardiovascular insufficiency, general darsonvalization is contraindicated
