What is body microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion

This technique is a type of exfoliation. Its beneficial effects on the skin of the face or body are achieved through the gentle removal of impurities and dead skin cells, as well as by stimulating regenerative processes in the superficial layers of the dermis.

How is the procedure performed?

Diamond dermabrasion can be divided into three stages, each of which contributes to the procedure’s effectiveness.

Preparation stage. The patient is seated in a comfortable chair; hair is tucked under a bandage or cap; the skin to be treated is cleansed of surface impurities and makeup and treated with a special gel that ensures the attachment glides smoothly.

Main stage. The cosmetologist selects the appropriate nozzle diameter: the largest are used for treating areas on the body, medium-sized ones for the face, and the smallest-diameter nozzles are intended for localized treatment or for polishing the area around the eyes. After the device is turned on, negative pressure is created in the handle, forming a vacuum, and the tip, coated with an abrasive spray, begins to rotate. The aesthetician treats the skin by moving along massage lines, i.e., in the direction of least tension.

Final stage. Once the microdermabrasion is complete, a nourishing mask or cream is applied to the treated area.

How to care for your skin after a diamond microdermabrasion procedure

You won’t need a long recovery period after a diamond peeling procedure. There is no redness, swelling, or peeling of the skin, and after your visit to the cosmetologist, you can quickly return to your normal routine. However, you should follow certain care guidelines for 5–7 days.

1. It is very important to avoid using alcohol-based lotions for a few days.
2. In the first 24 hours after diamond facial polishing, do not use foundation or BB creams, as well as powder or blush. They can penetrate too deeply into the open pores and cause clogging or skin irritation.
3. Temporarily stop using scrubs (although you won’t need them anyway).
4. Avoid cosmetics containing glycolic acid, lactic acid, or any fruit acids. These substances can cause a burning sensation and irritate the skin.
5. During the first week after diamond facial resurfacing, use richer creams and lotions than usual, as well as products designed for deep skin hydration. They will help eliminate feelings of dryness and tightness.
6. Throughout the entire course of diamond skin resurfacing, use sunscreen or sunblock before going outside, regardless of the season. The SPF should be at least 20.
7. Try to avoid physical overexertion, such as going to the gym. Excessive sweating can lead to skin inflammation.
8. Do not wash your face with water that is too hot.
9. A few days before the diamond skin resurfacing procedure, stop using products for problem skin that contain retin-A.
10. Visiting a tanning salon during and for 30 days after diamond microdermabrasion is contraindicated.
11. Visiting a steam room, sauna, or taking a hot bath is prohibited.

Who is microdermabrasion suitable for?

The procedure is suitable for both women and men. It is not recommended for individuals under the age of 18.

For which skin types is machine-based microdermabrasion suitable?

A course of microdermabrasion treatments is suitable for all skin types: dry, oily, combination, or normal, as well as for sensitive skin.

Do not use the device on areas of skin with inflammation, signs of rosacea, or moles. Is the microdermabrasion procedure safe?

Absolutely. The device is designed for safe and comfortable use specifically at home. Microdermabrasion does not damage or deform the skin. The microcrystals are hypoallergenic and non-toxic, and do not cause irritation or redness on the skin. Six crystal-coated tips make the device versatile and accessible to everyone.

What is the recommended treatment time?

The duration of the procedure depends on the area of skin being treated. The average time is about 30-45 minutes.

How soon will I see results?

The effect is noticeable after the first treatment; the skin becomes smoother and softer. After the third treatment, a lasting improvement in skin firmness and elasticity is observed, along with a reduction in the depth of wrinkles and scars.

Is it possible to lighten the skin and completely remove pigment spots with this procedure?

A course of 5–7 treatments completely removes small pigment spots; larger areas of pigmentation become less noticeable and disappear completely after several courses.

How often is it recommended to undergo microdermabrasion treatments?

Treatments should be performed no more than once a week; more frequent use may cause rashes and skin irritation. After the procedure, it is recommended to apply a moisturizing cream with sun protection that does not contain irritating ingredients.

Will I feel pain during the procedure?

Using the device is painless and does not cause any discomfort.
