Mesotherapy is an injection technique that involves the administration of vitamins, minerals, and other active ingredients—selected on an individual basis—to improve skin quality and address aesthetic concerns.
Mesotherapy specifically targets the localized manifestation of the problem. Minimal doses of the preparations are injected directly into the area requiring correction, without being “dispersed” throughout the body. Therefore, while achieving the desired aesthetic effect, side effects are avoided.
The composition of mesotherapy cocktails is always unique and tailored to the client’s needs. Single-ingredient preparations are rarely used. As a rule, cocktails prepared industrially or formulated by the doctor themselves are used.
First and foremost, the main ingredients are vitamins and essential trace elements (Zn, Co, Mg, P, S, Se, K). They energize the skin and serve as indispensable components during the procedure.
Hyaluronic acid-based cocktails stimulate metabolic processes in the skin, combat dehydration, and provide noticeable facial rejuvenation. Collagen and elastin make the skin firm and elastic, strengthening the facial contour.
An amazing skin rejuvenation effect can be achieved using plant extracts and organic acids.
Mesotherapy is remarkable for its comprehensive effect: complementing one another, the cocktail’s components work synergistically, enhancing each other’s effects.
Scalp mesotherapy is a relatively new but already popular service. It is one of the most effective treatments for hair loss, brittleness, dryness, and split ends.
Our clinic’s specialists select special preparations that stimulate blood circulation in the skin and hair follicles, as well as vitamins, trace elements, amino acids, and other components. As a rule, we are able to tailor a customized nutritional regimen for every hair type.
Scalp mesotherapy ensures an individualized approach for each patient and the selection of preparations based on the specific issues being addressed.
As a result, hair growth is accelerated, hair structure and appearance are improved, sebum production is normalized, and dandruff disappears.
Scalp mesotherapy is characterized by long-lasting effects and often helps address complex issues such as hair loss (baldness, alopecia), and even slows the appearance of gray hair.
How mesotherapy is performed
The procedure must be performed by a certified doctor or cosmetologist—after examining the problem areas, they will select the appropriate course duration and optimal combination of preparations.
Mesotherapy is virtually painless; however, if the skin is thin and sensitive, an anesthetic cream is used.
The injection depth is no more than 0.6 mm. They are administered either manually or using special automatic injectors (so-called “device-based mesotherapy”). The redness in the treated area, which is typical for all injections, subsides within a few hours.
After a mesotherapy session (as with any injection procedure), it is recommended to follow a few simple skincare guidelines. First and foremost, use skincare products designed for sensitive skin. Anti-inflammatory products are also essential. You can choose a special mask or purchase “Panthenol” or “Bepanthen” ointment at a pharmacy, which effectively relieve irritation and promote rapid skin recovery.
The first positive changes will be noticeable after the second or third session; however, to achieve lasting results, the procedure will need to be repeated at least 4–5 times (and more often 8–10 times) at weekly intervals.
The effect lasts for about 6 months and can be extended in one of two ways: either by undergoing a repeat course or by performing regular maintenance procedures (1–2 per month).
Contraindications
Mesotherapy itself is completely safe for the body (except in cases of improper selection of preparations that trigger an allergic reaction or are individually intolerable to the patient).
You should refrain from the procedure if you have any contraindications common to any injection techniques:
Pregnancy and lactation
Acute systemic diseases, viral infections, or inflammatory processes in the treatment area
Conditions that impair blood clotting
A Magical Transformation
As a rule, immediately after a mesotherapy procedure, the skin is transformed—it becomes smooth and firm. After mesotherapy on the back of the thighs, there is also a noticeable improvement in the appearance of cellulite: the skin becomes smoother, with less visible “orange peel” texture. However, all these changes, which make such an impression on clients, are simply due to tissue swelling caused by the injections. In many cases, however, after the initial swelling subsides, further changes occur in the skin, and it truly begins to look younger and firmer. But even in this case, the changes are not necessarily caused by the ingredients contained in the preparations. As noted above, at least in part, these effects are due to the fact that the needles inserted into the skin trigger a protective response, which leads to increased collagen synthesis, stimulation of blood circulation and the immune system, and accelerated cell renewal. Other results of the procedure will depend on exactly which preparations were administered. For example, the successful injection of an anti-inflammatory drug into the area of an inflamed pimple will undoubtedly be more effective than applying the same agent to the skin. Another example is the injection of a whitening agent precisely into the area of a pigmented spot. The results will also depend on how precisely the drug is injected—it must reach a strictly defined area of the skin.
