Gold thread lifting is a thread lift procedure in which fine threads are inserted into the tissue to create a supportive framework and improve skin elasticity.
One of the latest advancements in cosmetology and plastic surgery is skin reinforcement with gold threads. The new generation of gold threads—GOLD mesothreads—has proven highly effective. Unlike standard mesothreads, GOLD threads remain in place for many years rather than dissolving after six months to a year.
GOLD gold threads are a new-generation implant made from 99.99% pure gold. A collagen framework forms around the gold thread, which is less than 0.1 mm thick and inserted into the skin tissue, having a beneficial effect on the skin’s condition.
How is the gold thread implantation procedure performed?
Non-surgical 3D nano-mesothread face and body lift. The procedure at the Lux-medicus Tallinn clinic is performed by Estonia’s leading specialist in injection methods and laser technologies, Mikhail Kordas. Over 15 years of experience. More than 10,000 mesothreads inserted. A combination of the best technologies in the field of aesthetic medicine.
Before the procedure, the skin is treated with an antiseptic solution and the lines for thread insertion are marked. Then, local anesthesia is administered, and the threads themselves are implanted into the skin to a depth of just 3 mm.
A gold thread lift is not a painful or traumatic procedure; on the contrary, it is considered a minimally invasive method of lifting and rejuvenation. A session lasts on average from 40 minutes to 1 hour. The punctures are made using a triangular needle that does not damage the skin. The puncture sites are covered with a bandage, which is removed the next day.
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and patients can return to their normal work schedule within a few days.
The results are not immediately visible after the procedure, as the formation of new elastin and collagen fibers takes time. On average, patients notice results after a few weeks, and over time (up to 1.5 years), the effects gradually become more pronounced.
The procedure has both advantages and disadvantages. A major advantage is that the surgery is safe for your health, and the effect of the gold thread implantation lasts from 4–5 to 10–15 years. If the threads are placed along the lines of wrinkles, wrinkles do not reappear for a long time, and the face remains youthful and lifted. Moreover, the face remains expressive, “alive,” and does not look like a mask.
The downside is that the gold threads remain in the skin for life, which can interfere with certain cosmetic procedures (those using direct current). Another significant drawback is that gold is a fragile material that can break. Over the course of their use, the gold threads may break along the lines of natural wrinkles, but overall, this does not affect the patients’ appearance.
After the procedure, small bruises and discoloration may appear, but they subside quickly. Patients with heightened sensitivity and strong immune systems sometimes report a slight fever, but it lasts only 1–2 days.
For 4–5 days after implantation, patients are advised to sleep only on their backs, and for 3–4 weeks to refrain from sudden chewing and facial movements. Although facial reinforcement with gold threads is not a traumatic procedure, specialists still advise against visiting bathhouses, tanning salons, or saunas, as well as against using certain skin care products (liposomal creams) for 1–2 months.
