Inflammation of the sebaceous glands (acne) is the most common and troublesome skin condition, affecting not only teenagers during puberty. Chronic breakouts on the face and neck, as well as on the shoulders, chest, and back, bother many patients regardless of age, becoming a source of self-doubt and sometimes serious psychological problems.
To treat acne, devices using ultraviolet light within a specific wavelength range are used. This is either ultraviolet or infrared radiation, which acts directly on blackheads and inflamed tissues via a light beam. Thanks to this, the laser beam penetrates deep into the dermis to the exact depth where the inner cavity of the blackheads is located.
The photonic nature of the laser’s action allows it to have a healing effect on all layers of the epidermis, and gradually, there is literally no trace left of the blackheads.
The thermal effect of the laser causes blood to rush to the skin, thanks to which the harmful products of blackhead breakouts are carried away by the bloodstream.
How is laser acne treatment performed?
You lie down in a comfortable position on the treatment table, and our specialist applies the laser device to your skin through a thin tube with a special tip. Flashes of gentle heat act on the acne for a few seconds.
The inflammatory process subsides, and the contents of the pore begin to dissipate. The laser’s antibacterial effect has been clinically proven. It also stimulates the natural tissue regeneration process and normalizes sebum production.
Unpleasant consequences of inflammation, such as pigment spots, are also eliminated thanks to laser acne treatment. The number of sessions varies for each patient, depending on the severity and extent of the lesion, as well as the specific characteristics of the acne.
In addition, you may need comprehensive treatment, as acne rarely occurs as a standalone condition. In most cases, acne is accompanied by various internal organ disorders.
To enhance the effect, cosmetologists may also recommend procedures such as facial cleansing, peels for problem skin, and the application of special therapeutic masks.
Side effects:
temporary redness and swelling in the treatment area;
temporary minor discomfort in the treated area;
in rare cases, blisters, scars, ulcers, or skin discoloration may occur.
How does the procedure work?
A special solution is applied to the skin, creating a target for the laser energy. This results in a deep laser cleansing of the skin. The procedure is comfortable; you will only feel a warm, tingling sensation.
Which areas of the face and body is it suitable for?
The method is suitable for treating acne on any area of the face and body.
What happens after the procedure?
The skin is not damaged during treatment, so there is no recovery period as such.
How long does a full course of acne treatment take?
It varies greatly from person to person. For some patients, 1–2 sessions are enough to completely clear up acne.
At what age can the procedure be performed?
The method is suitable for all ages and is recommended for treating acne in teenagers.
Can treatment begin while there is inflammation on the face?
The presence of inflammation is actually an indication for laser treatment. Once the inflammation subsides, cosmetic procedures are prescribed.
Are there any contraindications for laser treatment of acne?
There are no specific contraindications. It is not recommended to undergo the procedure during pregnancy or during an exacerbation of systemic or chronic diseases.
